For absolutely novice users, it is sometimes a real challenge to install WordPress plugins. However, it is not difficult at all to install a WordPress plugin. It is a matter of just few clicks.
To begin with you must understand that there are two ways to install WordPress plugins. The first method is by installing the plugin from the wordpress.org right from within your wordpress dashboard. The plugins in this case are hosted on the wordpress.org website. In the second case you can also upload your own wordpress plugin to your website. For the purpose of this tutorial we will be restricting ourselves to installing wordpress plugins from wordpress.org site.

Log in to your WordPress dashboard and click on Plugins from the left side menu and then on Add New
On the resulting screen type in the WordPress plugin you are going to install and hit search button.
On the next screen you will get a list of plugins. Click on Install Now button below the plugin you want to install and also hit the OK button on the popup and the plugin will be installed in a few seconds.
On the next screen click on Activate Plugin and your plugin will be installed and now you can click on the Plugins button in the right side menu and do necessary settings for your newly installed plugin.
